Maken-Ki Manga #8 to Bundle Unaired Anime Episode (Updated)

The September issue of Fujimi Shobo's Monthly Dragon Age magazine announced on Tuesday that the eighth volume of Hiromitsu Takeda's Maken-Ki! action romantic comedy manga will bundle an unaired anime episode on DVD. The eighth manga volume will ship in a regular edition (without the DVD) and a limited edition (with the DVD and a variant cover) on March 1, 2012. The print run of DVD-bundled edition will be limited to the number of pre-orders received.
The story revolves around Takeru Ōyama, a boy enrolled in an elite school where the girls (and boys) fight with mysterious items called Maken. The student body includes the enigmatic girl Kodama, a girl named Inaho who calls herself Takeru's fiancée, and his childhood friend Haruko.
The manga is inspiring a October television series from director Kōichi Ōhata (Ikki Tousen, Burst Angel) and the anime studio AIC. An advance promotional video for the television anime began streaming on Monday.
