Aniplex updated its official Kimi to Boku. website with a second promotional video for the upcoming anime based on Kiichi Hotta's manga. The two-minute video provides key visuals, short animation clips, and character details. The anime's website began streaming the first promotional video on April 3.

Scheduled to begin airing sometime this October, the anime will run for for 2 13-episode seasons. A live-action movie adaptation of Hotta's original story premiered in Japan on May 14.

The story follows the lives of four teenaged boys who have known each other for most of their lives. Their friendship has its ups and downs, but they remain close into high school. A half-Japanese transfer student joins their group and adds a new dynamic to the everyday adolescent frienships depicted in this comedic anime.
