News Nintendo 3DS Sells 215,000 in Week After Price Drop

Enterbrain reported on Tuesday that the Nintendo 3DS portable console sold 214,821 units in Japan in the first week after the Nintendo reduced the console's price in Japan from 25,000 yen (about US$325) to 15,000 yen (US$195).
Nintendo dropped the price of the console on August 11, and the console sold 214,821 units between August 8 and August 14. In comparison, the console sold 371,326 units during its first week of sales in Japan. As of August 14, the Nintendo 3DS has now sold 1,521,325 units in Japan.
Nintendo reduced the American selling price of the Nintendo 3DS from US$249.99 to US$169.99, effective August 12.
