News Daft Punk: Interstella 5555 Gets U.S. BD on October 4

The distributor Virgin Records will release INTERSTELLA 5555, the anime musical created by the French electronic music duo Daft Punk and anime/manga creator Leiji Matsumoto, on Blu-ray Disc in the United States on October 4. The feature-length work already received a DVD release in the United States.
With INTERSTELLA 5555, Toei Animation adapted the songs from Daft Punk's Discovery album into a space opera story. The two members of Daft Punk made cameos in the anime, just as they did in Tron: Legacy, another film for which they contributed the soundtrack. Matsumoto's numerous credits include Galaxy Express 999, Queen Millennia, Space Battleship Yamato, and Space Pirate Captain Harlock.
