Niconico to stream November 11 concert worldwide as pay-per-view

The Niconico website and its parent company Dwango announced on Wednesday that they will stream the virtual idol Hatsune Miku's November 11 concert worldwide from Singapore. The concert will be Hatsune Miku's first concert in Asia outside Japan, and will be a "sequel" to her August concerts in Sapporo.

Anime Festival Asia is hosting the "Hatsune Miku Live Party in Singapore 2011" concert at the SUNTEC Convention Hall, and the stream will start at 6:00 a.m. EST as a pay-per-view event for US$11.00. Niconico subscribers can also watch the "timeshift" version of the concert until November 27.

The original Japanese version of the Nico Nico Douga service will also stream the concert in Japan. A separate international theatrical simulcast will start in the United States on November 10 for the "Hatsune Miku Live Party 2011 39's LIVE in SAPPORO" concert.

Crypton Future Media created Hatsune Miku to personify its software package that allow users to synthesize vocal songs without a human singer. Crypton Future Media has since expanded its lineup with other characters, and other companies have used the underlying Vocaloid software engine from YAMAHA to offer other character voice software packages.
