Rita et Machin Anime Characters Featured in JA Group Ads

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Nippon Animation Studio adapted French picture books into TV anime in 2010

The website for the Japan Agricultural Cooperatives Group (JA Group) is streaming a series of commercials featuring the animated characters from the Rita et Machin television anime series. The commercials advertise different functions of the company, which works to improve the standard of living of farmers.

Nippon Animation Studio adapted Jean-Philippe Arrou-Vignod and Olivier Tallec's Rita et Machin picture book series into a television anime series last year. The books follow the happy daily lives of a precocious five-year-old girl named Rita and an easy-going yet somewhat lazy dog named Machin. More than a dozen Rita et Machin books have been published in their native France since April 2006.

An episode from the series competed in France's Annecy festival in the Television Series category earlier this year.

Kids Station will rebroadcast the 26-episode series from December 26-30, then again starting on January 16.
