News Crunchyroll to Stream Feline Comedy TV Anime Poyopoyo
posted on 2012-01-05 12:00 EST
The media service Crunchyroll announced on Thursday that it will begin streaming the television anime adaptation of Rū Tatuki's four-panel manga Poyopoyo Kansatsu Nikki on January 7 at 7:00 p.m. EST under the name Poyopoyo. The slice-of-life story centers around a mysterious "spherical cat" named Poyo, its family, and the people in Poyo's everyday life. The anime will be available worldwide except in Japan.
Tatuki launched the manga in 2004, and the ninth compiled book volume shipped last February. A Nintendo 3DS game, in which the player raises and communicates with Poyo, will ship next month.

Not every super hero gets an awesome robot, elemental powers to summon lightning, or can fly through the air due to sheer psychic will. No, some personalities probably aren't suited for the super hero role, but it's thrust upon them anyway, strange powers and all. 2013-05-25

Review
If this film causes more permanent damage than most Pokémon outings, that's wholly the fault of its main character, Keldeo.
On the whole, The Battle for Doldrey is a mixed bag of strengths and weaknesses. While that may be true of most things, there are few places where those lines are so clearly drawn as in this film.
The first story arc finishes, a second begins, and several characters either get introduced or take on new roles and allegiances as this solid but unremarkable fantasy story continues. It may not excite, but it should entertain.
