Bem/Yusei Kamen Anime Writer Akira Adachi Passes Away

1960s, 1970s television anime series scriptwriter was 75

The Nikkan Sports newspaper reported on Wednesday that the anime scriptwriter Akira Adachi (Yōkai Ningen Bem, Yūsei Kamen) passed away from pneumonia in a Chiba hospital at 3:12 p.m. on Friday. He was 75.

Adachi wrote scripts for television anime including the 1960s series Prince Planet and the 1970 series Bakuhatsu Goro. He was also involved with the puppet troupe "Gekidan Pikkari-za."

Funeral services for the writer from Shimane Prefecture's Matsue City will take place in Chiba's Hanamigawa Ward on Wednesday morning. Adachi left behind his wife Misako.
