Ghibli's Arrietty Film Promo Streamed with U.S. Dub

U.S. dub's Bridgit Mendler, David Henrie highlighted before February 17 opening

A new one-minute promotional video for the American English dub of The Secret World of Arrietty anime film is now streaming online. The video highlights the contributions of Bridgit Mendler and David Henrie, the voice cast members for the two main characters. (The full theatrical trailer debuted in the United States last October.)

First-time director Hiromasa Yonebayashi re-imagines Mary Norton's 1952 novel The Borrowers by moving the story to a Tokyo suburb. The story revolves around Arrietty (voiced by Mendler), a member of the "little people" who live under the floorboards of a regular human family's home, and their struggle to remain hidden from the human "beans."

The movie originally opened in Japanese theaters in July 2010 with supervision by Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki. The film also received a different English dub in the United Kingdom, and the film already ran in theaters there in August.
