News Ushijima the Loan Shark Film Slated for August
posted on 2012-01-29 23:48 EST
The official website for the live-action film Ushijima the Loan Shark (Yamikin Ushijima-kun) announced that the film will open in Japan in August. The film adapts Shohei Manabe's manga of the same name. The story depicts the human drama in the black market world, as seen through the eyes of the titular loan shark.
Takayuki Yamada (Train Man, Crying Out Love in the Center of the World, Crows Zero, Gantz, 13 Assassins) will reprise his lead role from the 2010 live-action television series version of the manga. In the film, Ushijima participates in a celebrity event to collect on a debt and meets an event leader named Jun.

Mike wonders aloud about what happened to all that ADV Films stuff that never made the jump from VHS to DVD. 2013-06-16
One of those blustery, everyone-
The Last of Us is about the thick skin we've built for ourselves and, underneath that, the places where we secret our hurt.
Underneath all the explosive polygons and proper nouns, Remember Me is a game that has no idea what it's actually about.
The ending of Jormungand has something important to say ... but never figures out the actual message.
Sunny is an interesting glimpse into the lives of children who feel that the world has forsaken them and how they manage to cope with the help of an old car and a little imagination.
Ultimately Missions of Love still reads like a sexy book for middle schoolers. Yukina is far from a likeable heroine, neither Shigure nor Akira come off as particularly desirable male leads, and the less savory elements of the story detract from its romance components.
In the end this is just eleven episodes of connective tissue between last set's emotional meat and the savory feast of fighting that one hopes we'll be enjoying next.
