One Piece 65 is 16th volume to rank #1; Naruto, Gintama, Toriko join Kimi ni Todoke in top 5

The 65th volume of Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga is the manga's 16th volume in a row to rank #1 since Oricon began publishing its book sales ranking charts in April of 2008. The string of #1 rankings goes back to the 50th volume in June of 2008. The 65th volume tied the previous volume's record for Japan's largest first print run, 4 million copies.

The 64th One Piece volume sold 28,000 more copies this past week for a new total of 3.026 million. It is now the 8th straight volume (since volume 57) to break the 3-million-copy threshold. In addition, Hirofumi Takei's spinoff One Piece manga, Chopperman: Yukeyuke! Minna no Chopper-Sensei, ranked #25 on this past week's list.
