A-Channel + smile Video Anime's Textless Opening Posted

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Preview screenings for high school story's "Yamamori Pancake" episode held last weekend

The official website for the A-Channel anime franchise began streaming the A-Channel + smile original video anime's opening animation without credits on Friday. The anime inspired by bb Kuroda's original A Channel manga will ship on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on March 21. The opening video will be available through February 23.

The website also posted a 99-second promotional video for the series in December. Preview screenings of the new anime's "Yamomori Pancake" episode were held at various stores in major Japanese cities on Saturday and Sunday. Attendees received limited quantities of special promotional posters.

Like the television anime series that preceded it, the new video anime revolves around the "cute and relaxed" everyday life of four high school girls: the flighty Run, the reckless Tōru, the timid Yūko, and the level-headed Nagi.

The A-Channel + smile release will bundle a CD with the new opening theme song "Balloon Theater" by Marina Kawano. It will also include a second CD with the new ending theme song "Smile Hōteishiki" (Smile Equation) by the main characters Run, Tōru, Nagi, and Yūko (as voiced by Kaori Fukuhara, Aoi Yūki, Yumi Uchiyama, and Minako Kotobuki, respectively). The "Important Place" song that the characters Run, Yutaka (Ai Matayoshi), and Miho (Momoko Saito) perform in the anime, as well as a fourth unnamed song from the four main characters, complete the second CD.
