Consumer electronics maker Apple posted a new section to its iBooks electronic book store for comics and graphic novels. The section also includes a subsection labeled "manga," with titles from Seven Seas Entertainment. Other items in the subsection include several Korean- and American-produced manga-influenced comics, cosplay guides, manga-based language books from the publisher Japanime, and several instructional art books. There is a pre-order listing for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya volume 12, which is published by Yen Press and scheduled for release on May 29.
Also in the section are several independent comics, some of which are not in English.
Purchases in iBooks can be read on any Apple device that supports iOS 4 or later, which includes all iPads, all iPhones except the original model, and all iPod Touch devices except the first model. They cannot be read on a personal computer.
