Viz Media Europe Acquires Bakuman Rights for U.K. (Updated)

Kaze to distribute anime about budding manga artist by creators of Death Note.

The website for Viz Media Europe announced that the company has acquired the rights to the Bakuman. anime for the U.K. and several other territories. The rights cover TV, DVD, Blu-ray, VOD and merchandising. Kaze later confirmed that it would distribute the anime: "Release information will follow in due course."

The anime is based on a manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and drawn by Takeshi Obata — the co-creators of Death Note. The story involves Moritaka Mashiro, a junior high school student, who is persuaded to work towards becoming a manga creator with the encouragement of two classmates.
