Kochikame Manga Reaches 1,750 Chapters, Abu-san Reaches 100 Volumes

This week's issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine features the 1,750th chapter of Osamu Akimoto's police comedy manga Kochira Katsushika-ku Kamearikouen-mae Hashutsujo ("Kochikame"). The long-running series has been collected into over 175 volumes, and has been adapted into live-action films, a television drama, and multiple anime titles. To commemorate the 1,750th chapter of the manga, the front cover of the magazine will feature the title.
Similarly, Shinji Mizushima's long-running Abu-san manga, which began in Shogakukan's Big Comic Original magazine in 1973, will be collected into its 100th tankobon volume on the 27th of this month.
