Japanese Man Arrested for Allegedly Uploading 1 Manga Volume

The Oita Broadcasting System News reported on Wednesday that Ryūsei Mori, a man from Saiki City in Oita Prefecture, was arrested for uploading a volume of manga to the Internet for public download without its copyright owners' permission this June. The files in question were found by the prefectural police's division dealing with cyber crime during a search of the Internet for illegal images.
According to the police, Mori admitted his guilt, stating that he uploaded the images "without question." His arrest marks the first in Oita Prefecture involving the misuse of file-sharing software.
