Masami Hosokawa's story of brawling delinquents to premiere in October

This year's 36th issue of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine is announcing on Thursday that a live-action television adaptation of Masami Hosokawa's Sugarless school fighting manga has been green-lit. The story follows high school freshman Gaku Shiiba and his quest to rule his school through daily brawls with the other delinquents. Shōnen Champion indicates that Gaku's schoolmates Taiji "Marimo" Marumo and Itaru "Shake" Aramaki may also appear in the show.

Hosokawa launched the manga in 2010, and Akita Shoten will publish the 13th book volume next month. The live-action series will premiere this October on the station NTV.
