The official portal site for the Kojima Productions games studio has announced that the Xbox 360 version of its upcoming Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance game will not be released in Japan due to "various circumstances." As a result, the game's Japanese release will only be for the PlayStation 3 console. The statement making this announcement also apologizes for any trouble caused by the cancellation.
Kojima Productions (the company overseen by Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima) is responsible for the scenario and setting supervision of the game, while Platinum Games (Bayonetta) is handling its development. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.
Konami announced at GamesCom that the game will ship in the Americas on February 19, 2013, followed by Japan, Europe, and Asia on February 21.
