News Namco Bandai Files Idolm@ster/Shiny Festa Trademarks in U.S.

Namco Bandai Games registered trademarks for The Idolm@ster and Shiny Festa in the United States on December 3, following its previous trademark filings in Europe. Unlike the European filings, the American filings specifically list "The Idolm@ster" spelling and note that "the non-Latin characters in the mark transliterate to IDOLU MASTA and this means IDOLMASTER in English."
Unlike most of the previous Idolm@ster titles in which players manage the careers of aspiring idols characters, The Idolm@ster Shiny Festa PSP games are in the "idol rhythm" genre.
The three Shiny Festa games, The Idolm@ster Shiny Festa: Honey Sound, The Idolm@ster Shiny Festa: Funky Note, and The Idolm@ster Shiny Festa: Groovy Tune feature a different set of idols from the fictitious studio 765 Pro.
The games shipped in Japan on October 25.
