Publisher launches Weekly Shonen Jump digital anthology simultaneous with Japan

North American publisher Viz Media announced in its January 21 issue of its newly-relaunched Weekly Shonen Jump digital anthology that it will release Akira Toriyama's one-shot "Kintoki" manga in next week's issue. The one-shot follows a boy named Toki who is the last of his tribe of humans who possess monstrous strength.

The publisher re-launched its Weekly Shonen Jump Alpha magazine as Weekly Shonen Jump with its January 21 issue. The issue marks the move to a simultaneous model with its Japanese counterpart. The issue also premiered Yuusuke Murata (Eyeshield 21) and ONE's One-Punch Man manga.

Viz Media recently announced that its issues of Weekly Shonen Jump Alpha and Weekly Shonen Jump are now download to own and will not expire.

The publisher has launched a survey for fans' thoughts on the new issue. The company is also streaming a 30-second video about the magazine.
