Tsubasa Honda, Jo Odagiri to star in smartphone series about woman who works for design company

Model and actress Tsubasa Honda (2012's GTO, Piece, Tonbi) will star in a live-action drama adaptation of Yōko Nemu's Gozen 3-ji no Muhōchitai (3 a.m. Dangerous Zone) manga. The role will mark Honda's first starring role. The series will be broadcast only on mobile devices through BeeTV.

The manga follows a girl named Momoko who dreams of becoming an illustrator for a design company. She gets a job at a company that designs pachinko parlors. The series centers on Momoko's struggle at work and in love. Nemu launched the manga in Shodensha's Feel Young magazine in 2008, and the company has published three compiled volumes. Nemu also published two sequels to the series: the four-volume Gozen 3-ji no Kikenchitai (3 a.m. Terrible Zone) and the one-volume Gozen 3-ji no Fukyōwaon (3 a.m. Dissonance) spinoff. The entire series has more than 500,000 copies in print.

Jo Odagiri (Mushishi, SHINOBI - Heart Under Blade) will co-star in the show as a man who works in the same building as Momoko but for a different company. The show will also star Sho Aoyagi (Kekkon Shinai, Rokudenashi Blues) as Momoko's loud and unreasonable coworker, and Haruka Kinami (20th Century Boys, Sexy Voice and Robo) as Momoko's love rival. Nobuhiro Yamashita (Cream Lemon, Kueki Ressha) and Rikiya Imaizumi (Tama no Eiga, Koppidoi Neko) are directing the series.

The 12-episode series will premiere on March 20. Each episode will be 12 minutes long.
