Naruto, Black Butler, Bleach, Maximum Ride volumes rank in top 20

The ninth volume of Kodansha's release of Sailor Moon by Naoko Takeuchi ranked at #6 on Nielsen BookScan's list of top 20 graphic novels in American bookstores for January. The volume is one of four manga titles on the list: Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto volume 59, the only manga title on December's list, rose from #15 to #13, and Yana Toboso's Black Butler volume 12 and Tite Kubo's Bleach volume 54 ranked at #17 and #18 respectively.

Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead comic series filled six slots on January's chart, with the #1 spot belonging to The Walking Dead volume 17. James Patterson and Narae Lee's Maximum Ride volume 6 ranked at #11, and Gene Yang's Avatar: The Last Airbender — The Promise Part 3 came in at #20.

The BookScan rankings represent sales at Barnes & Noble and other book chains, independent bookshops, and online purchases — but not sales at comic book stores, Walmart, and some other venues.
