Viz to Publish My Neighbor Totoro Novel in English

Viz Media announced on Thursday that it will release My Neighbor Totoro: A Novel and an updated version of the My Neighbor Totoro Picture Book to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Studio Ghibli's animated film.
My Neighbor Totoro: A Novel will be released as a hardcover edition. Children's author Tsugiko Kubo wrote the novelization with watercolor images by film director Hayao Miyazaki himself. The book will arrive on October 1 at the retail price of US$17.99. The book has not been previously released in English.
My Neighbor Totoro Picture Book New Edition is a full-color picture book with images from Studio Ghibli's film. The updated version has a new cover design. It will retail for US$19.99 and is also slated for release on October 1. Viz released its first edition of this book in 2005, and Tokuma Shoten published an earlier English edition in the 1990s.
Walt Disney Pictures will release My Neighbor Totoro and another Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli film, Howl's Moving Castle, on Blu-ray Disc in North America on May 21 for US$39.99.
