Sony Board Chairman Howard Stringer to Retire June

Sony Corporation board chairman Howard Stringer announced that he will retire in June. Stringer previously served as CEO — the first non-Japanes to do so at Sony — before he stepped down from the position last year. The successor to Stringer's board chairman will be decided in June.
According to a transcript provided by company spokesmen Jim Kennedy, Stringer said, “A new world is opening up for me that will allow me to move forward with new opportunities I've been presented with lately.”
