News 2013 Doraemon Film to Set Franchise Record of 4 Billion+ Yen

Doraemon: Nobita no Himitsu Dōgu Museum, the 33rd film in the long-running anime franchise, is projected to set a new franchise record by earning over 4 billion yen (US$41 million) since opening on Saturday. Last year's film, Doraemon: Nobita to Kiseki no Shima ~Animal Adventure~, earned 3.62 billion yen. The first-day box-office receipts for this year's film outpaced last year's film by 136%, despite the film opening on 359 screens (compared to last year's 353).
