Piyo's manga inspired anime just months after launching in Comic Earth Star magazine

The "Earth Star Anime Matsuri" event at Anime Contents Expo announced on Sunday that a second season has been green-lit for the Teekyū comedy television anime. The season will premiere this July.

Piyo's original manga centers around a girls' tennis team. (The title is a wordplay on a Japanese term for tennis, teikyū.) However, the four high school girls on the team hardly play any actual tennis.

Piyo launched the manga in Earth Star Entertainment's Comic Earth Star magazine in early 2012, and the first anime season was announced just months later on the manga's first book volume. Earth Star Entertainment claims that this is the fastest television anime adaptation ever. Crunchyroll streamed the first season as it aired in Japan.
