Corpse Party Gets New Game, Blood Drive, on PS Vita

posted on by Egan Loo
Heavenly Host Elementary's story finale revealed; Tortured Souls anime slated for July 24

Corpse Party: Blood Drive, the latest game in the Corpse Party horror franchise, will ship for the PS Vita this year. It will continue the story from the eighth chapter (also named "Blood Drive") from the earlier PSP game Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, and it will represent the finale of Heavenly Host Elementary School's tragic storyline.

The original Corpse Party horror game from Team GrisGris followed of a group of high school students trapped in Heavenly Host Elementary, which is haunted by children who disappeared. The new game will center around Heavenly Host Elementary and the Shinozaki House (the former home of the malevolent spirit girl Sachiko and her mother Yoshie). The game teases the possibility of bringing back the friends who were mercilessly slaughtered in the school.

In a separate development, the upcoming Corpse Party: Tortured Souls -Bōgyaku Sareta Tamashii no Jukyō- video anime project is now slated for a Blu-ray box release on July 24. The games already inspired Corpse Party: Missing Footage, the original video anime bundled with the limited-number edition of the Corpse Party -The Anthology- Sachiko no Renai Yūgi ♥ Hysteric Birthday 2U spinoff game.

XSEED Games released the PSP version of the original Corpse Party game in North America and Europe, as well as the follow-up game Corpse Party: Book of Shadows.
