Atsushi Ohkubo's story enters climax next month, before ending 1 chapter later

The July issue of Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine is announcing on Wednesday that Atsushi Ohkubo is ending his Soul Eater manga in two more chapters. If the magazine runs the final chapters without a break, the manga will end in the September issue on August 12. The manga entered the "final battle" in the June issue, and the chapter in the August issue will depict the climax with a color title page.

The manga launched in 2004, and Square Enix is publishing the 24th compiled book volume this month. Yen Press will publish 15th volume in North America next month. Yen Press also publishes Ohkubo's spin-off manga Soul Eater Not! which launched in 2011.

The manga inspired a 2008-2009 television anime series from the anime studio BONES. Funimation released the anime in North America, and Adult Swim is running the anime in its Toonami block in the United States.
