Natsumi Eguchi's dark comedy was a nominee for the 5th Manga Taisho Award in 2012

The 31st issue of Kodansha's Morning magazine is announcing on Thursday that an anime adaptation of Natsumi Eguchi's Hōzuki no Reitetsu supernatural comedy manga has been green-lit. More information about the anime's cast and staff will be released at a later time in the magazine.

The dark comedy revolves around the fierce god aide to the Great King Yama, Hōzuki. Calm and super-sadistic, he tries to resolve problems that often occur in Hell.

Eguchi began the manga in Morning in 2011, and Kodansha will publish the tenth compiled volume of the manga on August 23. It went on to be a nominee for the 5th Manga Taisho Award last year.
