The Flower We Saw That Day film retells story from Menma's view, shows Chō Heiwa Busters 1 year later

The full trailer for the upcoming anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day film debuted after its completion on Friday. The trailer features "Circle Game," the theme song that Galileo Galilei performed not only for the film, but also the original television anime's rebroadcast.

The original Spring 2011 television anime followed several childhood friends who try to reconnect in high school, after drifting apart due to tragedy five years earlier. The film will retell the anohana story from the character Menma's point of view.

As the trailer notes, the film will also have the "Chō Heiwa Busters" reuniting at their secret base one summer, a year after the events of the television series finale.

Tatsuyuki Nagai is returning to direct the film at A-1 Pictures with head writer Mari Okada and character designer Masayoshi Tanaka. The film will open on August 31.
