1st Hakuōki Anime Film's Trailer Streamed

1st of 2 films to tell all-new story opened on Saturday with Aika Yoshioka theme song

The official website for the Hakuōki Dai-isshō Kyoto Ranbu anime film began streaming a new trailer for the movie on Thursday. The trailer features the movie's "Kurenai no Ito" (Crimson Thread) theme song by Aika Yoshioka.

Hakuōki Dai-isshō Kyoto Ranbu is the first of a two-part film project that will tell an all-new story. The main cast from the previous anime projects are returning for the film. Osamu Yamasaki is returning to direct the film, and he is co-writing the film's script with Tsunekiyo Fujisawa. Atsuko Nakajima is returning to adapt Yone Kazuki's original character designs for animation, and she is also serving as chief animation director. Kenji Kawai is taking over for Kô Ôtani for the film's music. Studio DEEN is again animating the film.

The film opened in Japan on Saturday.
