Man Arrested for Operating Site With Uploaded Dōjinshi in Japan

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Aichi Prefectural Police's cyber crime unit arrested 28-year-old self-described website administrator Kiminori Nagayama of Tahara City on Tuesday, on suspicion of violating copyright laws by uploading manga to the Internet without the creators' permission. Nagayama denied the charges stating, "I do not remember doing this."

According to the police, Nagayama operated an online website where visitors could view uploaded dōjinshi and other images, and he allegedly earned about 3.6 million yen (about US$36,000) from the site.
