Switch Girl!! Manga to End With 25th Volume in February

Natsumi Aida's manga that inspired 2 live-action dramas concludes after 7 years

The 23rd compiled book volume of Natsumi Aida's Switch Girl!! comedy manga revealed on Wednesday that the series will end with the 25th volume on February 25. The manga's penultimate 24th volume will ship in Japan on January 24.

The 21st volume revealed in January that the manga was entering its final arc. The series ranked as the 42nd best-selling manga in Japan in 2011. Aida was also listed in 2011 as the 43rd best-selling manga creator by sales since January 2010.

The series follows a seemingly ultra-cool and stylish girl named Nika Tamiya, but the fashionable persona is all an act that she "switches" on when she is out. At home, she "switches" off and reveals her true slovenly self that almost no one at her high school knows. One day, a transfer student named Arata Kamiyama moves into her apartment complex and discovers both sides of Nika.

The series has inspired two live-action television drama adaptations. The first season premiered in December 2011, and the second season premiered in December 2012. Seventeen magazine model Mariya Nishiuchi starred in the adaptations as Nika, and Renn Kiriyama (2011 Hana-Kimi's Nanba) co-starred as Arata.

Aida launched the manga in Shueisha's Margaret magazine in 2006.
