Within the thousand years that Kaname is sacrificing his own heart, how were Zero and Yūki living their lives...!? Zero Kiryū's story is revealed!

The original series revolves around Yuki, a high school girl whose unique school features a "day class" of normal kids and a "night class" of vampires. She works with her adopted father and headmaster to prove that vampires can coexist with humans peacefully, but the school — and the vampires — hide many secrets.

Hino launched the manga in LaLa in 2004, and she ended the manga in May. Hakusensha will publish the 19th and final compiled book volume on November 5, and will also release a Vampire Knight: Flail no Yume (Vampire Knight: Dream of a Morning Star) volume containing six side stories for the series on the same day. Viz Media will publish the 17th volume in North America on November 5, and the company also released the 2008 Vampire Knight anime series and its Vampire Knight Guilty followup.

LaLa Fantasy will also publish a 52-page one-shot by Junko Ike titled "Tōzoku to Hōseki Shōjo," and will feature a mail-away service for a second Chibi-kyun Chara figure commemorating the 10th anniversary of Yuki Midorikawa's Natsume's Book of Friends manga. The magazine will also come with a Vampire Knight card set.
