Gainax Marks Daicon Film Group's 33rd Year With Teaser Site

Anime studio Gainax opened a teaser site on Tuesday to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of Daicon Film, the independent film production group that formed the roots of the studio. It teased the Daicon Film 33 project as the "Revival of Daicon Film" with "various products." It also showed a silhouette of a certain character with the date January 8, 2014.
The Daicon Film group created two intricate opening animation shorts for Daicon III and Daicon IV, the Japan Science Fiction Conventions of 1981 and 1983. Many of the group's artists later formed the studio Gainax.
