Story of monk, who seeks to live freely at the end of war-torn Edo era, began last year

The 12th issue of Shueisha's Young Jump magazine is announcing on Thursday that Hiroshi Motomiya (The Country Burns, Salaryman Kintaro) will publish the final chapter of Bakumatsu Gurentai manga in the next issue, which will ship on February 27.

The period drama manga revolves around Jūzō, a monk excommunicated by the temples who seeks to live freely in the final days of the Edo era. In a world of battles (including those with historical figures) and chivalrous warriors, Jūzō shows empathy and humanity.

Motomiya began the manga last year. Shueisha shipped the second compiled volume in Japan on January 17.
