Senran Kagura 2, Deka Mori Senran Kagura Games' Promos Streamed

Shinobi girls challenge new foes, cooking in upcoming games being released this spring

Famitsu began streaming promotional videos for Marvelous AQL's Senran Kagura 2 -Shinku- and Deka Mori Senran Kagura Nintendo 3DS video games on Tuesday. Senran Kagura 2's video features the song “Hikari to Yami no Kanata” (Beyond Light & Dark) by Kokuritsu Hanzo Gakuen (Private Hanzo Academy), a group featuring members Hitomi Harada, Asami Imai, Yū Kobayashi, Kaori Mizuhashi, and Yuka Iguchi.

In the video, Homura tells Asuka that once they have defeated the enemy in front of them, they should settle the score. Asuka agrees, and the two say that they will not lose until they learn the way of the shinobi.

The video previews the "A Pack" version of the Deka Mori Senran Kagura Nintendo 3DS game, and Asuka and Homura introduce the game's story and system. In the story, the girls find out that a scroll containing a secret ninja art has been set as the grand prize for a cooking contest. In order to obtain it, various shinobi enter the fray as chefs. In the rhythm game, the player controls one of 21 girls as original background music plays. Kiriya will act as announcer, while Asuka's grandfather Hanzo will judge the dishes that the girls prepare.

Senran Kagura 2's “Nyū-Nyū DX Pack” limited edition set will contain the game itself, an art box, a 5-piece mini figure set featuring the members of the Homura Guren squad members, an original drama CD, and a CD containing arranged original soundtrack music and the opening theme song's solo versions. Those who pre-order early will receive an original soundtrack for the game, as well as separate discs for Senran Kagura -Shōjo-tachi no Shin'ei- and Senran Kagura Burst -Guren no Shōjo-tachi-. If a player has save data from the game Senran Kagura Burst, they will be able to play as Murasame. The limited edition set is being priced at 10,810 yen (about US$108), while the normal version of the game will retail for 6,480 yen (about US$65).

The A Pack of Deka Mori Senran Kagura will be released in Japan on March 20, while the B Pack version will be released on April 24, and each pack will cost 2,315 yen (about US$23). A pack of both versions with bonus digital contents will be available for 3,889 yen (US$39) until April 24, when the price will rise to 4,167 yen (US$41). First copies of the game will come with a CD containing background songs from the game, including "Futomaki Nin Nin" (Rolling Up, Ninja Ninja) by Hitomi Harada, "Break out of your Shell" by Eri Kitamura, "Pri Pri Prisoner" by Yumi Hara, "Zetsubo no Machiavelli-rhythm" (The Machiavelli-rhythm of Despair) by Hiromi Hirata, "Rasetsu Shura Do" (Rakshak Scene of Carnage), by Yu Asakawa, and "Okakugo Mesare yo TEACHER" (Get Ready, Teacher) by Suzuko Mimori.

XSEED Games released the first Senran Kagura video game in North America last year. The franchise inspired a television anime series last year that Funimation streamed as it aired.
