Mixed Vegetables' Komura to end comedy about girl & her crossdressing 1st boyfriend on May 2

The official blog for the editors of Shueisha's Margaret magazine announced on Thursday that they will "finally publish the moving last chapter" of Ayumi Komura's Liar Lily (Usotsuki Lily) manga. The finale will appear in this year's 11th issue of the magazine on May 2.

The slapstick romantic comedy centers around Hinata Saotome, a first-year high school student who gets asked out by a boy. Her new boyfriend En Shinohara happens to be a devastatingly handsome boy … and a cross-dresser. En has complete hatred for all males — including himself — and loves the female form.

Komura launched the manga in Shueisha's Margaret magazine in 2009, and Shueisha will publish the 15th volume on April 25. The manga already inspired a Vomic (comic with voices) with Asuka Ōgame and Yuuki Kaji in the lead roles. Amazon Japan's listing for Shueisha's free electronic publication Margaret Comics News reports that a television anime has been green-lit.

Viz Media published Komura's Mixed Vegetables manga in print and digital forms in North America. The American Library Association's Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) division listed the first Mixed Vegetables volume among the "great graphic novels for teens" published in 2009.
