Multi-player action RPG has players forming parties to collect crystals & fight beasts

This year's 29th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Square Enix is developing the multi-player action role-playing game Final Fantasy Explorers for the Nintendo 3DS ystem. The object of the game is to collect crystals and fight with summoned beasts who stand in your way.

Up to four players can form a party with white mages ("the party's lifeline" with restorative magic), black mages (long-distance attacks against enemies), monks (physical attacks), and knights (the figurative shield of the party, protecting from enemy attacks). The players' jobs will be familiar ones from the main Final Fantasy series. The magazine previews the summoned beast Ifrit as one of many from the main Final Fantasy series.

The price and release date of the game have yet to be announced.
