24-episode series from 2000 adapts manga by Yuu Watase

North American anime distributor Discotek Media announced on Tuesday that it will release the Ayashi no Ceres (Ceres, Celestial Legend) television anime series in a complete set in 2015. The company will release the series with Japanese audio and English subtitles as well as with the English dub.

The 24-episode anime adapts Yuu Watase's shōjo fantasy manga series. The series revolves around Aya Mikage, who is a descendent of the celestial maiden Ceres. At her 16th birthday party with her twin brother Aki, Aya's grandfather plans to kill her before she becomes Ceres and destroys her family. Aya, however, can transform back and forth between herself and Ceres, and she must learn to control her transformations while also staying on the run from her family.

The series originally aired in Japan in 2000. Viz Media previously released the series on VHS and DVD. Viz Media also released the 14-volume manga series in North America.
