Law of Ueki's Fukuchi Starts Psyche Mata Shite mo Manga

Story following boy who gains psychic powers after seeing childhood friend in danger is running in Shonen Sunday

The Law of Ueki creator Tsubasa Fukuchi began serializing a new manga series titled Psyche Mata Shite mo (Once Again, A Psyche) in this year's 32nd issue Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine on Wednesday.

The manga revolves around Saike (pronounced the same as "Psyche"), a male middle school student without dreams or motivation. Within his normal everyday life, the only one who dotes on him is his female childhood friend, Mikan. However, one day, after seeing Mikan in extreme danger, he gains psychic powers that surpass human knowledge.

Fukuchi ended his Anagle Mole series earlier this year, and Shogakukan shipped the fifth and final compiled volume in Japan in February.

Weekly Shonen Sunday serialized Fukuchi's The Law of Ueki manga from 2001 to 2004 and the sequel The Law of Ueki + from 2005 to 2007. The manga artist launched the Ping Pong manga series Takkoku!!! in Shogakukan's monthly Shōnen Sunday Super Zōkan spinoff magazine in 2009. Takkoku!!! ended in 2011, and Fukuchi began Anagle Mole a few months later.

Viz Media published The Law of Ueki manga in North America, while Geneon Entertainment and Funimation released its television anime.
