Tokkō Jimuin Minowa Manga Gets Live-Action Drama Starring EXILE's Matsu

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Comedy manga centers on former biker gang leader who becomes law firm clerk

Kei Ogawa's Tokkō Jimuin Minowa manga is getting a live-action drama adaptation starring EXILE band member Toshio Matsumoto (Matsu). The series, titled Binta! ~Bengoshi Jimuin Minowa ga Ai de Kaiketsushimasu~, will premiere on October 2 on YTV, NTV, and online, and will air on Thursdays.

The legal comedy manga revolves around Minowa, a former biker gang president who finds work as a clerk at a law firm — even though he has absolutely no knowledge about law — in order to support his very young sister. Ogawa launched the manga in Kodansha's Young Magazine in 2013, and Kodansha released the second compiled book volume in December 2013. The manga won the Chiba Tetsuya Award in the Young category in the 65th Chiba Tetsuya Awards.

Sayaka Yamaguchi (Nodame Cantabile's Yuko) will co-star in the series as the cool lawyer Natsumi Takada, and Masahiko Nishimura (The Wind Rises' Kurokawa) will play the law office's owner, who has hostility toward Minowa and Natsumi. Flower will perform the show's theme song "Akikaze no Answer" (Autumn Wind's Answer).
