Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy, Disgaea 5, The Awakened Fate Ultimatum Western Releases Scheduled

NIS America announced its release plans for Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy (Tokyo Shin Seiroku: Operation Abyss), Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance, and The Awakened Fate Ultimatum (Kamisama to Unmei Kakumei no Cross Thesis) games.

The company will release Experience, Inc. and CyberFront's Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy dungeon role-playing game in physical and digital editions in North America and Europe in spring 2015.

The story follows two girls who hold the key to solving serial kidnappings in Tokyo. Contrary to rumors, the case is not just an urban legend. Victims continue to disappear, with those kidnapped being mainly youths. A group of strange people were spotted at the scene of the crime. Taking the brunt of the incidents are the students of the Public Nichirin Academy, where the X Team also attend school.

However, the incidents do not end there. A strange case occurs when people and buildings are suddenly damaged or just disappear. The girls stand up against a large enemy of unknown origin who is suspected to be the culprit of the "Sprawl Terror" incidents. In the midst of that group, there is someone that the girls know very well.

Tetsu Kurosawa and Oxijiyen (Demon's Gaze) designed the characters and Motoya Ataka directed the game. The game was released for the PlayStation Vita on January 23 in Japan. A sequel is currently in the works.

Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance (Makai Senki Disgaea 5) for PlayStation 4 is the newest installment in the Disgaea strategy RPG video game series. NIS America will release the game in digital and physical formats in fall 2015 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. NIS America describes the story:

As a new and terrible Overlord named Void Dark seeks to enslave the countless Netherworlds, one young demon has stood to end his reign — Killia. In Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance, you will lead Killia and his tenacious army of rebels in their struggle against Dark Void. Along their dark path to vengeance, you will encounter more hilarious writing, over-the-top animations, and absurd damage numbers than anyone has seen in a Disgaea game. Ever.

A western release was confirmed in September, but no release date was announced.

The game will debut on March 26, 2015 in Japan. The Japanese limited edition package of the game will come with an "Usaria & Yellow Prinny" Niitengo mini figure, a hardcover art book, a two-disc original soundtrack, and a box with original artwork to contain everything. Those who pre-order the game will receive a download code for an alternate bunny girl outfit for Seraphine. The limited edition pack of the game will retail for 10,200 yen (about US$102), the normal version will sell for 7,200 yen (US$72), and a downloadable copy will cost 6,171 yen (US$62).

NIS America will release The Awakened Fate Ultimatum for PlayStation 3 in North America on March 17, 2015 and in Europe on March 20, 2015. NIS America describes the story:

Several years after a certain revolution came to pass, and the powerful Satanael was defeated, the devils were still dominant in their constant war against the angels. Meanwhile, a certain Celestia was resorting to guerilla warfare to survive. They focused on researching a way to create a "God" to use as their ultimate weapon against the devils. After creating the "Fate Awakening Crystal," which can turn a human into a God, the angels could only wait for the day they found someone who was compatible with it...

One day in the Human World, a boy is attacked by a group of devils on his way home from school. He is stabbed through the heart, but as he is dying, he gets saved by a mysterious girl, and wakes up in an unknown location—Celestia. As if guided by the Fate Awakening Crystal that is implanted in his chest, he finds himself thrust into the middle of a war between angels and devils. With his newly awakened powers, he must choose how best to use them, and ultimately, which of the two new girls in his life he will be able to save...

The Awakened Fate Ultimatum is the sequel to Nippon Ichi's The Guided Fate Paradox (Kamisama to Unmei Kakumei no Paradox ) PlayStation 3 role-playing game. The game shipped for PlayStation 3 in Japan on September 25. NIS America will release the game in "Angelic" and "Devilish" limited edition versions that include a soundtrack CD, box, artbook, and set of art cards. The art cards vary depending on the set.
