Section 23 Films Adds Patlabor Film, The World God Only Knows OVAs

North American anime distributor Section23 Films announced in its May release slate on Thursday that it will release Patlabor: The Movie on DVD and Blu-ray under its Maiden Japan imprint on May 5. In addition, Sentai Filmworks licensed The World God Only Knows OAVs and will release them as a set on Blu-ray and DVD on May 5.
Manga Entertainment and Bandai Visual USA previously released Patlabor: The Movie on DVD in North America in 2000 and 2006, respectively. Maiden Japan released the original Patlabor video anime series on Blu-ray and DVD and will ship the Patlabor: The New Files OVA in February.
The World God Only Knows OAV collection will consist of four OVAs: Four Girls and an Idol (The World God Only Knows: Four People and an Idol), The Reunion/The Encounter (The World God Only Knows: Tenri Arc), and The World God Only Knows: Magical Star Kanon 100%.
Sentai Filmworks plans to release the OVAs digitally as well.
The release slate announced the May 19 Blu-ray and DVD release of the Ninja Scroll film, which Sentai Filmworks licensed in 2012.
