Shokotan, Dempagumi.inc to Perform Punch Line Anime's Theme Song

Idol, idol group collaborate to perform opening theme for Noitamina anime premiering in April

The official website of the original anime Punch Line announced on Thursday that Shōko Nakagawa (Shokotan) and Dempagumi.inc will collaborate to perform the opening theme song for the upcomingPunch Line television anime.

The song will be entitled "PUNCH LINE!", and the idol and idol group will perform the song under the group name, "Shokotan Dempagumi.inc." Ken'ichi Maeyamada (Hyadain) will compose and write the lyrics for the song. Sony Music Records will release the CD single containing the song in Japan on April 29.

Fuji TV previously streamed a promotional video for the anime last November.

Yutaka Uemura will direct the series at MAPPA from scripts by Kōtarō Uchikoshi, who is best known for his scripts for the adventure visual novel Ever17. Music producer and composer Tetsuya Komuro will score the anime's music, and MAGES. will produce the show.

In addition, Shōta Iwasaki is designing the characters, which include:


Yūta Iritatsu, the protagonist whose spirit has been separated from his body.


Mikatan Narukino, a bright and spacey idol.


Lovera Chichibu, a gal-style fishy spiritual medium.


Ito Hikiotani, a NEET who plays online games.


Meika Taihatsu, a genius inventor who loves her grandfather.

The staff hinted that the reason Komuro was chosen for composer is due to the fact that the anime has a strong connection to music. The slogan for the anime is, "Once he sees underwear, humanity is destroyed!?"

Punch Line will premiere on the Fuji TV programming block Noitamina in April.
