"Utra-violent, dark parody" to ship in February
North American publisher Seven Seas Entertainment announced on Tuesday that it has licensed the "ultra-violent, dark parody" manga series Tomodachi x Monster (Friend x Monster) by Yoshihiko Inui. The company plans to release the series in three volumes, the first of which will ship on February 23, 2016.
Seven Seas describes the story:
In a small mountainous village in rural Japan, strange creatures lurk. It's here that young Wataru hears a voice calling out to him. Wandering from his school, he soon discovers a new “friend” that will transform his life forever – or drastically shorten it. Wataru learns of a hidden world of monsters who seek to befriend young children, and together with them enter a horrifying death match.
Inui began the series in Futabasha's Manga Action magazine last June, and Futabasha will publish the third compiled volume this June 27.
