Street Fighter V's Brazil Stage Hints at Blanka

CAPCOM to reveal new character for fighting game in October

CAPCOM's official Street Fighter YouTube channel began streaming a video revealing the new Brazil stage for its upcoming Street Fighter V fighting game on Tuesday. In the video, Street Fighter V executive producer Yoshinori Ono showcases the stage while characters Ryu and Chun-li fight. Ono also hints heavily that Blanka, a character from many previous Street Fighter games, will also appear in Street Fighter V. Ono states that CAPCOM will announce a new character for the game in the Brazil Games Show, which will take place in October.

Street Fighter V is the latest entry in the Street Fighter fighting game franchise. The game contains new features, such as V-Reversal moves, and a special V-Trigger mode. The game is slated for release on the PlayStation 4 and PC (via Steam) in the spring 2016 release window. Those who pre-order the game for PlayStation 4 will gain access to a public beta for the game on July 23. CAPCOM will launch a separate beta this fall for those who pre-ordered the game for PC.

The game has so far revealed stages set in London and China. The game's E3 trailer, which CAPCOM streamed in June, revealed the addition of Cammy and Birdie to the roster of playable characters. Other playable characters include Ryu, Chun-Li, Nash, and M. Bison.

CAPCOM released Street Fighter IV in Japanese arcades in 2008, on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2009, and later for Microsoft Windows that year. Many expanded editions were released including Super Street Fighter IV, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition in 2010, and Ultra Street Fighter IV in June.
