Anime DVD bundled with Ciao magazine's next issue on September 3

The September issue of Shogakukan's Ciao magazine announced on Monday that Sayuri Tatsuyama's Aru Hi Inu no Kuni kara Tegami ga Kite (One Day A Letter Arrives from the Dog Kingdom) manga will receive an anime adaptation. The anime will ship on the Ciao Ciao TV! DVD bundled with the magazine's next issue, which Shogakukan will publish on September 3. The anime will adapt the "P-chan ~Hitomi wo Tojireba~" (P-chan ~If You Close Your Eyes~) chapter from the fourth volume.

The magazine teases:

The moving story of P-chan, a dog abandoned by his owner.

The manga adapts Maruko Tanaka and Yūko Matsui's 2009 novel of the same name. Both the manga and the original novel revolve around deceased dogs who write and send moving letters to their former owners. The manga originally ran as a one-shot, but due to its popularity it became a serialized work.

Tatsuyama (Happy Happy Clover) launched the manga in Ciao in July 2012. Shogakukan published the manga's sixth compiled book volume on July 1. Viz Media previously published Tatsuyama's five-volume Happy Happy Clover manga in North America in 2009-2010. Happy Happy Clover inspired a 13-episode anime series that aired in 2007. Tatsuyama also created the one-volume Kumappuri manga about a bear prince that also ran in Ciao in 2008.
