This year's 52nd issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine announced on Wednesday that several new manga will launch in the magazine in the new year, including a new series by Nozoki Ana and Nozo × Kimi creator Wakoh Honna. The "love story that brings sadness to the heart," tentatively titled Fureru to Kikoeru (pictured at right), will launch in 2016's combined fourth and fifth issue on December 22.

Nozoki Ana inspired an original video anime that shipped on DVD with the 13th and final manga volume in February 2013, and then shipped on a standalone Blu-ray Disc release in May 2013. The manga also inspired a 2014 live-action film adaptation directed by Ataru Ueda and Kensuke Tsukuda.

Honna launched her Nozo × Kimi spinoff manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 2011. The limited editions of the manga's fourth, fifth, and sixth compiled book volumes all shipped with OVA episodes adapted from the manga. The manga ended in April.

The magazine will also launch a weekly series titled Amano Megumi wa Sukidara ke! (pictured at left) by Nekoguchi in the third 2016 issue on December 16. The slice-of-life comedy about polar opposites previously ran in the monthly spinoff magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday S.

In addition, Kôji Kumeta (Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, Joshiraku) will publish a one-shot manga titled "Towaman Tomoko" (Tower Mansion Tomoko, pictured at right) in the ninth 2016 issue on January 27. The story will center around a girl living on the second floor of an apartment tower complex, although the magazine cautioned the story may change before publication.

Shun Fujiki will draw a battle comedy one-shot titled "Dame Terasusama" (pictured at left) in 2016's first issue on December 2. The story follows a certain famous deity who descends to the human realm and becomes a good-for-nothing NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) while living with a boy. Relative newcomer Ri~chi Ishiyama is drawing the one-shot manga "Magiremono" in next year's second issue on December 9.
