Manga based on Bushiroad multimedia project debuts in spring

The February issue of Bushiroad's Monthly Bushiroad magazine (cover shown right) revealed on Friday that Mami Kashiwabara will launch a manga for Bushiroad's BanG Dream! mixed-media project in spring 2016. Kashiwabara will serialize the manga in Monthly Bushiroad.

Bushiroad launched the BanG Dream! multimedia project in January 2015. Bushiroad formed the Poppin' Party band for the project in February 2015. The band's members consist of voice actresses who portray the characters in the story, and play the same instruments as their characters. The cast includes: Aimi (Kasumi Toyama) on guitar and vocals, Ayasa Itō (Arisa Ichigaya) on keyboard, Rimi Nishimoto (Rimi Ushigome) on bass, Sae Ootsuka (Tae Hanazono) on lead guitar, and Ayaka Ōhashi (Saaya Yamabuki) on drums.

Novelist Kō Nakamura launched a manga titled BanG_Dream! Star Beat in Bushiroad's Monthly Bushiroad magazine in January 2015. Hakuto Shiroi is also launching a separate BanG Dream! manga in Kadokawa's Dengeki G's Comic sometime this year. Bushiroad and OLM's joint anime brand ISSEN animated a music video for the project.

Kashiwabara launched her Sora no Manimani manga series in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine in 2005, and ended it in 2011. Kodansha published 10 compiled book volumes for the series. The manga received a 12-episode television anime adaptation in 2009.
